Take your training to the next level: improve key behaviours, such as loose-lead walking, sit and recall; learn useful new behaviours such as Emergency Stops, Send-aways and Settles; improve impulse control and confidence; learn fun tricks and practise social skills.

For dogs who have previously attended a foundation training course or who have in place a basic level of training in loose lead walking, recall and sits.

One-to-one Dog Training

Whether you have a dog who is new to training, have a particular issue you would like to work on, or if you wish to take your dog's training to the next level, our one-to-one sessions will help you do so.

After drawing up a bespoke training programme, we will meet in the dog's home or at a neutral venue, whichever is the most appropriate learning environment.

Following our session, you will be provided with a comprehensive training plan to use and refer to at home with your dog.

One-to-one Puppy Training

The perfect foundation for learning life skills and positive behaviour whilst establishing a bonded, understanding relationship between you and your pup.

Private Training Walks

The ultimate 3-in-1 solution: a private, solo walk with a qualified dog walker and certified trainer PLUS mental and sense stimulation PLUS training skill practice.

 

Training walks are always performed one-to-one. This ensures

  1. that your dog can work on their training without the distraction of other dogs, and

  2. that they will get the best, personalised walk FOR THEM. 

Skills practised can include:

  • sit, stand, lie down

  • coming when called

  • walking on a loose lead

  • confidence building

  • passing other dogs/people

  • impulse control

Group Training Workshops

The Surrey Hills Pet Minder is delighted to run a number of one-off workshops in the Surrey area. These workshops focus on individual behaviours such as:

  1. Our training sessions will teach you the tools you need for success. It is important that owners continue with these training tools outside of our sessions to achieve the desired outcome. 

  2. Learning takes place at different paces; dependent on the owner, the dog, the issue/behaviour, any obstacles and the desired objective. As such, it is not possible to provide an exact timeline, in advance, for when the objective will be met.
